Tips on good hairstyles while transitioning from relaxed to natural hair
HAIR STYLES
1. Straighten the new growth to match the relaxed hair
Flat iron
Blow outs
Flexy Rods
Roller sets
http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae6/kukuam77/NATURAL%20HAIR%20CARE/
2.Two Strand twist ( Ask your stylist to twist your hair with leave in conditioner it works better)
3. Twist outs ( You can also decide to twist your hair and twist out afterwards, it gives your hair a beautiful texture.
Fusion Extensions, Weaves, lacefront wigs
You can wear your hair this way if you don't want to deal with your natural hair whiles transitioning.
http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae6/kukuam77/Fusions%20Malaysian%20Weaves%20Sew-ins/?start=all
Braids,Cornrows, TreeBraids, Flat twist
Your hair grows very well if you keep them braided up, just be careful about your edges since your hair can come out easily when braided too tight.
http://s952.photobucket.com/albums/ae6/kukuam77/Braids%20Twists%20Cornrows%20Treebraids/?start=all
In conclusion, there is a unending amount of styles you can do in transitioning hair. You can do all of the above or in any combination. They should be low manipulation and always keep hair moisturized because if you want to keep it out remember that fragile demarcation line. At least braid down at night. Otherwise you're just asking for breakage.

THINNING HAIR
Most ladies dread to have their ends clipped just because they want their hair to grow.
But one thing we should all know is split ends that are not clipped off will climb up higher and
higher unless cut off. So ladies please consider trimming your ends at lease every 8 weeks and your hair will look much healthier and thicker with lots of body.
Do you do weaves-on, sew-ins, bonding weaves back to back?
Its time to give your hair a break. Yes Sew-ins & Weave-ons are easy to manage but they thin your hair out.
Try not to leave your weave in for so long. If you have a weave for 6-8weeks, take your weave out and wear your hair for 2-3weeks before going for your next weave.
Don't do braids back to back either. All your edges will be gone in no time.
Try to Deep condition your hair at least once a month. That means your weaves and braids don't
have to last that long.
If your hair is thinning out despite all your safe regimen, then i will suggest you check on
a. Your Relaxer
b. Your Stress level
c. Your Medications.
I think it takes just one bad relaxer to cause a notable damage to your hair.
If you are stressed your hair, nails and skin shows it.
Some Medications tend to thin your hair out so until you stop taking those medications your hair
will unfortunately continue thinning out.
But all isn't lost when your hair is thinning out, please drink lots of water, eat balanced meals, exercise
and take vitamins if necessary. You will see significant changes in your hair.

Tips for your hair during the Winter season
During the winter months a lot of women will experience breakage and split ends because of wool clothing, non-hair friendly winter scarfs, hats and dry scalp.
Most ladies will experience extreme dryness of their scalp due to the hash cold weather.
I will suggest wearing a curly blow out and allowing your ends to be tucked under as a form of protection from snags. You can also wear braids, cornrows and weave-on to protect your hair from the hash cold weather. If you normally blowout your hair be sure to pin curl your hair to ensure curls last a full week and add a little serum to your hair before pin curling to keep it nice and shinny . If you braid, cornrow or weave your hair, make sure you oil your scalp at least twice a week to prevent your scalp from getting dry.

IT IS NOT A DOMINICAN THING IT IS A HEALTHY HAIR THING.
If your are going natural or is already natural, and find it difficult managing your hair, just remember curly or kinky hair tend to be more dry and brittle when exposed to extra heat.Excessive heat will suck out all the moisture and leave your hair dry.
I must say i don't believe in roller setting your hair and sitting under the dryer and then applying direct heat which creates a lot of tension to your hair.
But mind you, Dominican Blowout if done right, based on the clients hair texture will definitely leave the hair bouncy, with a lot of body and sheen.
Its not a Dominican thing is a healthy hair thing.
All hair ain't the same so don't expect a stylist to do your hair just like how client A's hair was done.
Clients with hair that are less curly and less kinky tend to have stronger hair that takes more heat than the former.
Dominican hair when done right creates a healthy hair environment.
And remember you need a deep condition prior to a good Dominican blowout.
Dominican blowout is not rocket science, anyone can learn how to do them, however i will rather you
do a good roller setting and don't blow dry your hair,
You will be glad you took this decision.
And if i want to do a Dominican blowout make sure your stylist does it for you.

Healthy Hair Recipe!!
Let me know if you love this article by Joanne Elliott!! I Love It.
A Recipe For Healthy Hair
By Joanne Elliott
By Joanne Elliott
Forget hair revitalizing shampoos, great nutrition is the most effective way of getting awesome hair!
Shiny, healthy hair is a reflection of a healthy body, so it's like two for the price of one. Just like your body, your hair needs a balanced, nutritious diet to stay healthy. So follow this recipe for healthier hair, and be amazed at the difference it makes!
Water
Water makes up one-fourth of the weight of a strand of hair. Moisture makes the hair supple, so make sure you get plenty of fluids. A key point is NOT to wait until you're thirsty. If you're thirsty, it means your body has already lost more water than it should have, and it's urging you to fill up the tank. Water not only hydrates your body, but helps keep your hair silky and shiny. Ideally, you should drink between eight and ten glasses of water a day.
Protein
Protein is the building block of hair, so a diet for healthy hair contains an awful lot of protein! Protein will give the shaft of your hair more strength, and will reduce the likelihood of dame through snapping and splitting. You can get protein from foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.
Minerals
- Iron helps to carry oxygen to the hair. Without enough iron, hair and its follicles get starved of oxygen. This means that the goodness in the root of your hair is much less effective along the length of the strand. You can increase your iron intake by eating red meat and dark green vegetables, or by iron supplements.
- Zinc builds hair protein which helps to prevent hair loss. Meat and seafood are the foods highest in zinc.
- Copper is involved in the pigmentation of hair. You can optimize your natural color with a diet with plenty of copper. Who needs hair dye and fake color! Shellfish, liver, fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds and meat are all high in copper.
Vitamins
- Vitamin A will give you a healthy scalp, because it is great for the skin! You can get vitamin A from foods like vegetables - in particular, in carrots. (So it is good for the waistline too!)
- Vitamin B and C are important for good circulation, hair growth and hair color. If you ensure that you have enough vitamin B and C, you'll have strong, supple strands of hair that do not split. You can get these vitamins from eating foods like fruit, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread.
So follow this healthy guide, be sure to add in a hefty dose of daily exercise to keep that blood pumping, then add proper hair care on the surface! Go ahead! Try it!

DANDRUFF!!! DON'T WORRY- TIP ON HOW TO SHAKE DANDRUFF FLAKES AWAY
ONE OUT OF TWO PEOPLE SUFFER FROM DRY SCALP.
I CAME ACCROSS THIS ARTICLE BY Anna Lynn C. Sibal
PLEASE ENJOY!!!!!
If you have dandruff, do not worry about being alone with your problem. With one out of every two people in the entire world having, or having had, that same problem as yours, you are definitely not alone with it. Dandruff is a common hair problem. Embarrassing indeed, but a very, very common problem nonetheless.
What causes dandruff? Well, you see, our entire skin, from our scalps to the soles of our feet, sheds dead skin cells on a daily basis. We get a complete coating of new skin every 28 days or so, but we hardly even notice it.
Our bodies also play host to a lot of microorganisms like bacteria and fungi, feeding off on the sebaceous oils that our skin produces. Our scalp in particular is home to a kind of fungus called malassezia fungus, and its food is the oils produced by the hair follicles of our scalp. Dandruff happens when, for some reason or another, the malassezia fungus goes crazy and irritates our scalp, causing the dead skin to shed a lot faster. So, instead of shedding the dead skin cells of our scalp for a month, the shedding happens in less than two weeks, and the oil that our hair follicles produce cause these dead skin cells to clump together and become dandruff. Until now, the factors that trigger this phenomenon with the malassezia fungus are still the subject of research.
Dandruff is an embarrassing hair condition, and it can recur despite your best efforts. But with proper hair care, the recurrence of dandruff can be controlled. The best way to keep the flakes at bay is to shampoo your hair every day - picture perfect hair.
Dandruff can, of course, become stubborn, so if washing everyday with your regular shampoo does not stop the flakes from becoming haywire, the next best thing to do would be to start using anti-dandruff shampoos. Look for anti-dandruff shampoos with zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, salicylic acid or ketoconazole as the active ingredient. To keep your scalp from developing immunity to these shampoos, go ahead and rotate brands at least once a month.
For optimum results, you can lather your hair with the shampoo of your choice twice. The first wash will clear the scalp of the flakes and the oil buildup. The second one would let the chemicals in the shampoo get absorbed by the scalp - haute hair.
You can also try homemade remedies to wash the flakes away and to keep the dandruff from recurring. What is considered the best homemade remedy to dandruff is a vinegar wash. Mix two teaspoons of vinegar with six teaspoons of water and rub it against your scalp before you go to bed, then wrap your head with a towel. Apply the same solution to your hair once again in the morning when you wake up, then rinse it with water. You do not have to worry about the smell of vinegar in your hair, as the smell of vinegar does evaporate eventually.
Whatever you do, never, ever scratch the clumps with your fingernails. It will cause wounds on your scalp.
Dandruff is an embarrassing hair condition, but it is not unmanageable. Just take good care of your hair and the flakes will go away.
